Capital Eye Specialists has an experienced and friendly team including two specialist ophthalmologists (eye surgeons). We use the latest technology for diagnosing and treating a great variety of eye diseases with medicine or surgery.

Cataract

Cataract is where the clear lens inside your eye becomes cloudy, yellow, opaque. When this process blurs the vision and makes life more difficult, it is called a cataract. Cataracts can be removed and replaced with a clear plastic lens. Read more about cataract surgery.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition of the optic nerve, which is the cable from the eye to the brain. Optic nerve fibres are gradually lost as we get older, but in glaucoma this process is accelerated. Most people do not notice any problems with their vision until glaucoma is advanced. Read more about glaucoma and treatment.

Neuro-Ophthalmology

Neuro-ophthalmology refers to neurological conditions affecting the eyes or vision. This includes disorders of the optic nerve, which cause reduced vision, and problems affecting eye movements, which might cause double vision. There are a wide variety of conditions that can affect the nerves and muscles of the eye.
